DEBORAH SELLECK BRIDAL AND EVENING WEAR

Inspired by Hollywood glamour of the 1940s and 50s, couturier Deborah Selleck finds a connection between what brides aspire to look like on their wedding day and what happens on the red carpet today.

Her signature look is distinctive of a bygone era, one of sophistication, ethereal glamour. “We design a beautiful dress that you wear to your wedding, as opposed to a wedding dress,” says Deborah. “Effortless Glamour” would define a Deborah Selleck gown in two words, and this is exactly how Deborah envisages her role as couturier. She designs with a bride’s comfort in mind. “I want her to be comfortable and glamorous on her day, caressed by beautiful falling fabrics.”

Deborah directs brides to either a ready-to-wear collection with a price range between $2500 and $3500, or the couture section where gowns cost between $3850 and $7000. A Deborah Selleck couture design takes a minimum of six months to create as the lace is flown from France to India to be beaded before arriving on Australian shores
